“Anytime someone asks me what my favorite/most prized records are in my collection, I always point to my banda records, the corridos, y las rancheras in my collection. These songs all played in the background throughout my childhood, I’d hear them at home, at the flea market, at weddings, when we would visit Mexico, at all my favorite places as a kid. Este mix se lo dedico a mis papás, and to that very special time in my life.
The last two songs on this mix are songs that according to my parents I would sing, “con mucho sentimiento y emoción” when I was a little kid (Leña de Pirul by Banda Machos, y Nieves de Enero by Chalino Sanchez) to this day some of my favorite songs. Espero que lo disfruten! <3”
